This is the first newsletter of 2012 so firstly, thank you to everyone who came to the Levelling The Land Live shows just before Christmas (they were brilliant) and secondly, Happy New Year!
Looking ahead, the new Levellers album Static On The Airwaves is being mixed at the moment and its sounding great. We’ll have more news on the release very soon!
The band are back out on the road for a string of European dates in April and May and will be playing new tracks from the album on these dates and at festivals this Summer. All the live dates announced so far are below and can be found on the website.

SIMON FRIEND’S SEISMIC SURVEY
The Survey is a collaboration between Simon Friend (Levellers)and Mick Doyle (No Right Turn, Neverland, Bloodsimple). Both local musicians, they have played together sporadically for over 20 years.
“We met at Stansted Airport 60 feet off the ground on a steel girder working as steel deckers.” (In the construction industry based in Ashbourne and Brailsford.)
“In amongst the saws and fixing guns we had a couple of mandolinsand things and got gigs playing in pubs for beer after work!”
1990 saw Simon leave Derbyshire to join Brighton based folkrockers Levellers, whilst Mick continued working with No Right Turn and Neverland.
Recently reunited after 20 years of “being a bit busy!” Mick and Simon bring us a mixture of their own material as well as new takes on individual influences. They are joined by bass player Andy Cooper from No Right Turn along with a combination of guitars, banjos, mandolins and harmonica’s etc.
