Levelling The Land Live PART II in May with special guests Dreadzone and Back To The Planet!
With 11 out of 15 dates SOLD OUT (and only a few tickets left for their others) on the Levelling The Land tour in March, 3 more dates have been added in May. Leicester, Sheffield and a second night at London’s Brixton Academy with very special guests Dreadzone and Back To The Planet on all three of the new dates. The band will perform their era-defining album ‘Levelling The Land’ in its entirety to mark the 20th anniversary of its original release, followed by an extended encore of live favourites and B-sides.  

Dreadzone, the fervently followed British institution and original pioneers of UK bass culture, are releasing ‘The Best Of Dreadzone – The Good The Bad And The Dread’ - a compendium of their excellent musical story so far - on 09 May. The all-killer-no-filler 16 track ‘Best Of’ collates the many highlights of ‘the Zone’s’ output to date. Still going strong after seventeen years, Dreadzone have carved a large niche and cult following.  Hit records, critical acclaim and a huge, devoted fan base are theirs, due in part to their utterly storming live shows. Anarcho punk band Back To The Planet formed while squatting together in Peckham, south east London in 1989, and attracted a dedicated following throughout the early nineties playing many of the free festivals including the Deptford Urban Free Festival and the infamous Castlemorton Common Festival in 1992. With a long-shared Levellers association going all the way back to the Peckham Dole House days, the band reformed in 2006 but have only played a handful of festivals since then.

On Saturday 19th March following the sold out gig at Brixton’s O2 Academy, the Levellers take the short walk down the road to Jamm, where they will host their official Levelling The Land aftershow party. On the night you will have the chance to see the band behind the decks as the party features an exclusive Levellers DJ Set plus live performances from 3 Daft Monkeys and more. The original Big Audio Dynamite line-up featuring Mick, Don, Dan, Leo and Greg head to Devon in August! The groundbreaking rock-hiphop-reggae outfit, formed by Mick Jones in the wake of The Clash have reunited after twenty five years and will headline the Friday night at Beautiful Days. Credited with popularising sampling techniques and combining rock guitars with world beat, B.A.D has influenced everyone from Beastie Boys to Chemical Brothers. They share the bill on Friday night at Beautiful Days with the return of gypsy-punks Gogol Bordello.  They are back by popular demand after a storming set headlining the festival in 2007. Led by the energetic and charismatic Eugene Hutz, Gogol Bordello - a nine-piece juggernaut of gypsy rebel soul - has become an international force to be reckoned with and is arguably one of the best live acts around. Headlining the Saturday night at Beautiful Days are Carter USM making their first festival appearance in 14 years and their only UK festival appearance this year. In a career that spanned 10 years, Carter The Unstoppable Sex Machine's achievements included a Number One album and many hit singles whose lyrics have dealt with very unlikely pop themes. Their ferociously entertaining live shows have earned them the most dedicated fan followings in the wonderful world of alternative pop. We are truly delighted that Jimbob and Fruitbat have chosen to play at Beautiful Days this year. Festival founders Levellers will close the festival on the Sunday night followed by a firework finale. There will be LOADS more acts to be announced in the coming months including the other headline acts for The Big Top and some big names for the Main Stage, The Big Top and The Little Big Top. Also still to be announced is the line-up for Dirty Davey’s and Scary Dave’s comedy line-up in the Little Big Top. Previously announced are Oysterband who will headline ‘Big Session @ Beautiful Days’ in the Big Top on the Saturday.

NICK BURBRIDGE - THE UNICYCLE SET
McDermott's Two Hours' Nick Burbridge, long-time collaborator with The Levellers, has a new poetry collection on sale, a full length book called The Unicycle Set, published by Waterloo Press, to follow All Kinds Of Disorder, some of which Jon turned into a unique CD of readings, music and effects.

NOVEMBER 2010 TOUR VIDEOS
The blogumentary from the band’s November tour features footage of the band, interviews with local pressure groups, fans, grass roots activists, local characters and location pieces. The band enlisted the help of film-maker and ex-Chumbawamba vocalist Dunstan Bruce to document the tour and some of the people the band met along the way.
